I just bought an 98 opel astra 1.4 but the radio doesnt work. Its a blaupunkt 300. It always had SAFE on the display but today I turned it on while holding the AS button and 7-safe mode came on. Whats the difference and how do I fix it. I took the radio out and found a number - 1704. Is this the code? S/N is GM1300V4071148.
Unfortunately, the radio is stuck in safe mode and doesn't give the option to put the code in. I have recoded the radio in the past with no problems, so the fact it is not allowing me to attempt to input the code makes me think all 10 attempts have been tried and failed. Mechanic claims not to have touched the radio..
